About Audit Assist
A clear beginning.
A transparent next step.
Audit Assist is an educational and inquiry platform for nonprofit, church, and business leaders. Its purpose is to make the first conversation about a potential engagement easier to begin.
Why this exists
The work starts
with understanding.
Many leaders encounter an audit request before they know what to ask or where to start. A report is needed, a date is approaching, and someone has to organize the next step.
Audit Assist brings useful planning information and a simple inquiry process into one place. The focus is on your organization’s circumstances: what is being requested, what the timeline looks like, and whether a conversation about a potential engagement is appropriate.
The initial geographic focus is West Palm Beach and nearby Palm Beach County communities, with content written for nonprofit and church leadership.
From inquiry to a possible engagement
Know where you are in the process.
An initial inquiry
You provide basic contact and organizational details. This is a request for a conversation, not an agreement for professional services.
A discussion of the circumstances
The reporting need, timing, and general fit are considered. Further information may be needed before there is a basis for a proposal.
The firm is identified
If the inquiry moves forward, the separate CPA firm would be identified before a proposal. The person responding through Audit Assist may also be involved in serving the engagement through that firm.
The firm evaluates and agrees the work
The CPA firm determines whether it can accept the engagement and sets the scope, timing, fees, and terms. Any engagement agreement would be directly with that firm.
Clear responsibilities
What Audit Assist does.
What the CPA firm does.
Audit Assist LLC
Publishes general educational information and collects inquiries about potential audit and review engagements. It does not issue assurance reports or accept audit or review engagements.
The separate CPA firm
Evaluates the opportunity, decides whether to accept it, and would perform the work and issue the report under its own engagement agreement. An inquiry through Audit Assist does not guarantee acceptance, a particular fee, or a completion date.
Audit Assist is not a marketplace comparing multiple firms. Its inquiry process is intended to support potential engagements through a separate CPA firm.
